Why is personal branding important?
- Increased Visibility and Credibility: A well-established personal brand can make you more visible and recognizable in your industry or field, leading to increased credibility and authority among your peers, clients, and audience.
As we all learned in school, there are 3 ways to create a persuasive story. Logos, ethos and pathos. Ethos is what we are focusing on here. Establishing credibility will increase your likelihood that you are who you say you are, you are confident in that fact and they should be too.
- Career Advancement: A strong personal brand can enhance your professional reputation, leading to better job opportunities, promotions, and career advancements.
We all want to be the person in the office or at work that has their sh*t together. There are small steps to take that will make it easier and more comfortable to rely on the core values you hold true to yourself.
- Networking Opportunities: A compelling personal brand can attract like-minded individuals, potential collaborators, and mentors, expanding your network and opening doors to new opportunities.
To me, there is nothing greater than handing someone a business card that I feel proud of. Something so small can spark a conversation that can lead to amazing results. Connecting with people who are also attempting to do their best to seem polished and connected to themselves is the first step to creating a solid network of people.
- Thought Leadership: A strong personal brand can position you as a thought leader in your industry, enabling you to share insights, knowledge, and expertise that others value.
Knowing who you are and presenting this to the world is an awesome way to take charge of any situation. I’ve been in positions that I was unsure of myself that lead to feeling so small. Having the confidence to be sure of yourself will lead to taking control and having your ideas be heard.
So much truth here. A personal brand is so important to how you see yourself.
